Ben Ranner is a Technical Manager for Arts and Entertainment, working in venues and on specialist activity around the UK, and has spent his working life supporting others in the sector by helping to create environments where they can perform to their potential. With a keen eye for long term strategic planning and data driven policy making, Ben works to identify challenges and propose solutions with a focus on effective and efficient outcomes which support end user aspirations.
In real terms this means that Ben will look at your existing data, identify what else you need to find out, work out how to find that out and then tell you what it means in a way that makes sense to you and your teams. He can help you to plan how you can implement the changes you need and support you through the process.

About me
Ben Ranner is a technical manager based in the West Midlands. He trained at Rose Bruford College before moving on to being a Technical Manager on London's pub theatre circuit, before moving on to larger theatres and eventually spending several years at the newly opened Roundhouse in Camden, developing their special projects. In 2011 he left London to open the Marlowe Theatre in Canterbury, before returning in 2015 to work at the O2 in Greenwich. He later returned to work in Kent on a sustainable development project based on the old Snowdown Colliery. Following this Ben moved to work at Royal Botanic Gardens Kew, before moving to the Royal Shakespeare Company in 2018, where he stayed until 2025, working on projects such as the Garden Theatre and Swan theatre redevelopment.
In 2023 Ben undertook an apprenticeship in Improvement Management, with a particular focus on early project development, with special interest in the and data based evidencing.
In his spare time Ben is a keen gardener and loves attending stand up comedy performances. He is a parish councilor, and works in his local community.
